History of Pilates
Joseph H. Pilates suffered from asthma, rickets and rheumatic fever, as a child dedicated his entire life to improving his physical strength. He came to believe that the "modern" life-style, bad posture, and inefficient breathing lay at the roots of poor health. He ultimeately devised a method of exercise and physical movement designed to stretch, strengthen and balance the body. With systematic practice of specific exercises coupled with focused breathing patterns, Pilates has proven itself invaluable not only as a fitness endeavour itself, but also as an important adjunct to professional sports training and physical rehabilitation of all kinds. 
                                                                                                                  
How Pilates can Help!
Many parts of Canada, Europe, and Pan-Asia are experiencing the explosion in demand for Pilates. Pilates is popping up in fitness classes, physical therapy offices, corporate retreats, luxury spas and wellness centers across the country.

With the aging of our population and the increasing trend toward mindful, moderate health practices, Pilates is more likely to find itself in every generation. 

Angela is a certified Pilates instructor and regularly teaches at several fitness gyms in the K-W region.  With a decreasing amount of time with busy families, Angela will do private home Pilates classes as well as small group sessions. Angela applies her knowledge of natural therapies to her pilates classes to help clients find awareness "within". Pilates sessions are 1 hour in length.
